How to Gain Self-Confidence

Have you ever wondered how to gain self-confidence?

You’re not alone.

There’s a lot of people who struggle with self-confidence as well and try as they might end up more often in a worse spot than before.

It’s not uncommon. I’ve been there myself and still am in a way, but I’m working on it. There are certain things I’m currently doing on how to gain self-confidence. Something that is an extension from yesterday’s post on How to Get Out of a Funk.

It begins with the self-confidence formula that is in the book, Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I’ve known about this formula for years now and have endeavored to apply it in my life, but have recently became aware of something I’m doing horribly wrong…

…rather something I’m not doing when it relates to how to gain self-confidence.

The second step in the self-confidence formula says:

Second.“I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality, therefore, I will concentrate my thoughts for thirty minutes daily, upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture of that person.” (Download Entire Self-Confidence Formula Here)

In the past, all I would do is read it. I actually wouldn’t apply it. I wouldn’t “concentrate my thoughts for thirty minutes daily” as directed. Which I now firmly believe that has been a major stopping point in my progression!

But I’m not one to meditate. I should, but it’s very difficult for me to do what it directs as I’m borderline ADHD. So in order for me to focus on something I need to be physically doing something. I came up with a solution that will help me accomplish this, and I believe is a great way on how to gain self-confidence.

How to Gain Self-Confidence (My Solution)

Instead of sitting ‘Indian style’ with my arms stretched out and palms up, I’ve decided to spend the thirty minutes a day writing down on a piece of paper of the “person I intend to become.”

I learn by doing. My mind is able to focus and concentrate more when I’m putting action to my thoughts. Thoughts and thinking about it is where it all starts, but for me, I need to write it down. Part of the taking action part. By doing this, I’m hoping it will transmute into physical reality and actually start to become the person that’s outlined on paper.

I know it will happen. I believe it and have a strong desire to make it happen. This is one way what I’m doing on how to gain self-confidence in all areas of my life.
