Staying Focused

Since starting my personal development journey a few months ago I really haven’t had many days that have been bad, negative, or difficult…until yesterday.  It was a day that will go down in infamy of the realization that staying focused and being positive that your goals and dreams will be accomplished take a lot of work and dedication.

At the peak of my negativity yesterday and wallowing in self-pity, I received an email from a business partner, Doc Fran Clark of which was his daily inspirational message he sends out to his team.  He quoted Dale Carnegie:

“Feeling sorry for yourself, and your present condition, is not only a wast of energy but the worst habit you could possibly have.”

Message received loud and clear.  It was like a big slap in the face and jogged me out of my “present condition” to self-analyze why I let myself get into this “funk” and came up with a couple of reasons my focused was lost:

  1. I hadn’t been repeating my “Major Definite Purpose” as directed by Napoleon Hill in his book “Think and Grow Rich” along with the “Self-Confident Formula” and daily affirmations.
  2. My daily listening of Jim Rohn and other motivational speakers have been non-existent for the past few weeks.

It was still difficult for me to climb the rope out of the hole I was in and am thankful for a loving and supportive companion to lean on to pull on the rope and stretched for your hand to help me along the way.  She helped me remember the bigger picture and the positive things that have happened over the last few months and the amazing progress I’ve made.

I woke this morning, bound and determined and in the words of Og Mandino, “Today I begin a new life!” I jumped on the morning mindset call and began the daily affirmations and daily dose of Jim Rohn to start out my day…AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!  It’s like a complete 180 and feel like I’m back on track and ready to accomplish my goals and find success!

It’s up to you to stay focused.  YOU make the choice.  YOU are the only one that determines your destiny.  Allow YOURSELF to achieve greatness.  STAY FOCUSED AND LIVE YOUR DREAM!
