Why I’m Ditching the iPhone & Droid for the New Windows 8 Phone

htc windows 8 phoneStop. Breathe. It’s okay. Yes, I’m ditching the iPhone & Droid for the new Windows 8 phone.

In the past, the Windows phones haven’t exactly made a huge impact in the marketplace that could stand it’s ground against the “all powerful” iPhone and Droid.

When the Droid smartphones first launched I fell in love. I loved loved loved my Droid. For the next 2+ years it was my phone of choice…

…then when the iPhone 4 came to Verizon I decided to try it out and see what the hype was all about.

They hype was good my friend. I thought I’d never say this, but I love my iPhone 4S more than I loved my Droid. There are pros and cons of each, but overall I was VERY satisfied with the Apple product.

The touch screen was far superior on the iPhone. It was more accurate and easier to use. The apps ran better and more smooth. With the Droid, apps kept crashing and force closing, which was very frustrating. Siri became my new best friend. I even tried to go back to a Droid, but couldn’t do it…

…once you go iPhone, it’s hard to go back or to anything else.

Until now.

Why I’m Going to the Windows 8 Phone

Last week I was introduced to the new Windows 8 phone. Going into it I was somewhat skeptical, and it was hard for me to believe that Microsoft was able to come up with a viable product to compete with the iPhone and Droid.

I was surprised.

Let’s just say, after using the new Windows 8 phone for about 4 hours, I was pre-ordering it after 3. Here’s a few reasons why I’m switching:

1 – It’s Different. Even though I LOVE the iPhone 4S, I’m kind of getting tired of it. It’s probably too consistent, and not enough change…or fast enough. With Droid, there’s so many manufactures trying to compete for a piece of the market share and new software updates coming out every other month, just too many bugs and crashes.

The new Windows 8 phone it totally and completely different. There are two screens…one for the “Live” tiles (which are fully customize-able in size, position, and content) and the other lists ALL the apps in order for easy access.

2 – PC Compatibility. Since getting the iPhone 4S, I now wanted to get a Mac, but could never justify the cost. Most likely, I’ll always be a PC man and having a phone that is totally and completely compatible makes my mouth water.

3 – People Hub. If you didn’t know, I’m an Internet Network Marketer. Connecting with people and staying in touch is the lifeblood of my home-based business. People Hub shows you real-time updates, tweets, posts and messages from all your social networks, without separate apps to open. ALL, I mean ALL of my contacts information is in one place…pure awesomeness!

Another cool feature is that you can create “rooms” for your friends and contacts. I can create a “room” for my network marketing team, which all can access a shared calendar, share notes, provide virtual training, etc. Do the same thing for family members, co-workers, etc.

The Windows 8 Phone…

It’s a breath of fresh air. I am SO EXCITED and can’t hardly wait for the new Windows 8 phone to arrive in my mailbox.
