You Failed. So What?

You failed. So What? One of the main reasons why I like watching movies is because of the life lessons that can be learned…

…like the movie I watched last night. The picture to the left is from that movie, Elizabethtown starring Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom.

It’s about a guy (Bloom) who comes up with a design of a new type of shoe that’s expected to be the ‘next big thing’ right? The company invests nearly $1 billion dollars in production, manufacturing and distribution… But the shoe is rejected, recalled and a huge failure!

The failure is blamed on the designer, Bloom. Once he was on top of the world where everything was sunshine and roses was now in the depths of despair where everything was dark and bleak.

So how do you climb yourself out of the depths of despair? How do you get back on being on top of the world? Here’s a clip from the movie that can help all of those who failed look at it from a different perspective.

My wife calls it ‘re-framing’ (she’s a therapist). Take a look at a situation from a different perspective. You’ll find that most are blessings in disguise. Here’s the main quote from the movie clip…

“Alright, you REALLY failed… Do you think I care about that? I do understand. You’re an artist man! Your job is to break through barriers not accept blame and bow and say, ‘Thank you. I’m a loser I’ll go away now.’

You wanna be really great? Then have the courage to fail big and stick around! Make ’em wonder why you’re still smiling. That’s true greatness to me.”
